u Karnaval parade was great this year after all the pre-Karnaval arguments settled down. Originally scheduled to go around the streets once, it was decided at nearly the last minute to let it go around twice. However, for the first go-around, which started very early, at 1 pm, there weren't many spectators because the word hadn't gotten out. At 6:30 pm the police stopped all the music, much to the disappointment of the Karnaval celebrants. These steps were taken by the government because there was concern that the festivities could get out of hand.
u As the clock ticks over from 8:01pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2002, time will (for 60 seconds only) read in perfect symmetry. To be more precise: 20:02, 20/02, 2002. Something similar will happen again at 20:03 20/03 2003, and so on. It will happen again each year for at least the next 10 years, until 2012. It happens for 12 years out of every 100, at least until the 25th century. L&GD
